Fatema Z. Sumar Named Harvard CID’s Executive Director

CID has named Fatema Z. Sumar, an innovative development and public policy leader, as its new Executive Director. Sumar will work closely with CID’s Faculty Director Asim Ijaz Khwaja in running CID, ranked as one of the world’s leading university-based research centers in International Development.

CID expert Marcella Alsan wins MacArthur Fellowship

We are honored and delighted to congratulate CID Faculty Affiliate and Faculty Advisory Council member Marcella Alsan for winning the prestigious MacArthur Fellowship “Genius Grant” this past Tuesday, September 28th, 2021. Marcella uses her interdisciplinary background to examine how the legacies of racism have perpetuated health inequalities along racial lines today.
