Bela Mehta is a seasoned private equity executive with over two decades of experience in revitalizing businesses, driving profitability, and leading organizations through high-stakes transformations. 

Bela’s career began as an analyst at Fidelity Capital, in their Broadband Group, where she evaluated venture investments in telecommunications and technology. Here, she gained international experience by implementing investment strategy in São Paulo and Tokyo.

In 2004, Bela joined CITG Capital Partners, a private investment group focused on middle-market companies in manufacturing, distribution, services, and technology, where she currently serves as a Managing Partner. Some of her achievements came through Little Switzerland, where she oversaw the merger of the largest luxury retailer in the Caribbean islands and Florida. She integrated 2 entities into the portfolio’s previously owned jewelry manufacturing facilities resulting in 37 luxury stores and facilitated the end-to-end transformation of their entire business, including rebranding, restructuring, and the implementation of e-commerce strategy.

Bela serves on the Board of Directors of Hamilton Beach Brands, Inc. (NYSE: HBB) as well as on private company boards such as Netlink Software Group, Lumenore, an AI enabled analytics platform, and various innovative start-ups.

Bela’s leadership is grounded in resilience, innovation, and deeply held values. She serves on the investment committee for the Polsky Innovation Fund at the University of Chicago, was a mentor for design thinking at Northwestern’s McCormick School of Engineering, and is the board chair for the Women and Public Policy Program at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.

Bela earned a BBA in Finance with High Honors from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business and an MBA specializing in Entrepreneurship from The Wharton School. Later, she pursued an M.Ed. in International Education Policy at Harvard University.

Outside of work, she enjoys hiking and skiing, visiting public libraries, and spending time with family and friends.
