
Thelma Ferguson reports to the Firm’s Chief Operating Officer with dual accountability to the heads of Corporate Banking and Human Resources — and serves as an Operating Committee member for Consumer & Community Banking, the Commercial & Investment Bank, the Office of the CFO, and Human Resources.
Throughout her banking career, Thelma has been a key advocate and champion of diversity. In her global role, she drives the firm’s differentiated DOI strategies to uplift employees, clients and the communities we serve.
As Vice Chair of Commercial Banking, Thelma serves as a trusted advisor in promoting Commercial Banking’s efforts to provide access, connections and opportunities to business owners from historically underserved communities.
Thelma is a member of the Executive Leadership Council. She sits on the boards of the New York City Ballet and Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard Kennedy School. In 2022, she was recognized as one of the Top 10 Women of Influence by the New York Business Journal.
Thelma received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and maintains Series 79, 63 and 24 licenses.
