Each spring, the Office of Career Advancement publishes an employment report highlighting the employment outcomes of the previous year’s graduating class.
In 2024, 649 graduates left Harvard Kennedy School to step into professional roles across the globe, driven by a shared passion for creating a better world.

Here are some highlights from this year’s report:
- 649 graduates are working in 46 countries and territories, as well as 27 U.S. states and Washington, D.C.
- 86% of graduates were settled by November 2024. (Settled refers to those who are employed, pursuing further education, running for office, or not seeking employment.)
- Of the 86% graduates settled, 82% were employed (51% with a new employer; 24% returning to their pre-ÌÇÐÄvlog¹ÙÍø employer; 4% launching new ventures; and 3% self-employed); 2% were continuing their education; 0.3% were running for office; and 1% were not seeking employment.
- Overall, 35% of graduates are working in the public sector or for IGOs; 25% are working for non-profit organizations or NGOs; and 37% entered the private sector. (The sector for 3% of graduates was unspecified.)
- Top destinations for graduates included the U.S. federal government—with 54 graduates working in the U.S. federal government in 21 departments and agencies—as well as international government, non-profit organizations, and consulting firms.
- 55 graduates are working in non-U.S. governments across the globe.
- 119 graduates are employed in the nonprofit/nongovernmental organizations sector in areas including climate change, health, economics, international development, community/economic development, environment/natural resources/sustainability, and international affairs.
