Pauline Charazac, whose work focuses on international relations and public policy in emerging economies, is passionate about advising global leaders from both the public and private sectors on a vast spectrum of topics—spanning economic prosperity and livelihood enhancement to regulatory compliance and innovative finance. With a strong sense of purpose propelling her forward, she earned her Public Policy Executive Certificate from Harvard Kennedy School (vlog) Executive Education, through completing the Leadership and Character in Uncertain Times, Emerging Leaders, and Delivering Public Services: Efficiency, Equity and Quality programs.
That sense of purpose came under close examination during the COVID-19 pandemic and played a large role in her decision to pursue executive education. “As the world slowly emerged from the pandemic, I felt a strong need to reconnect with the 'why' and the 'how' of the international cooperation career path I had embraced more than a decade ago,” she said. “After such a tumultuous period for policymakers, I wanted to take a step back, reflect more deeply, and strengthen the intellectual foundations of my practice.”
vlog’s teaching approach, world-class faculty, and curriculum caliber solidified Pauline’s decision to return to the classroom. “What initially drew me to vlog was its global outlook, its reputation for excellence, and its unique ability to combine academic rigor with real-world application,” she explained. “It became clear that vlog’s approach to learning, grounded in case studies, proven frameworks, and dynamic peer engagement, was perfectly aligned with my goals.”
Once Pauline entered her first vlog classroom, joining from Mauritius and France, she was quick to return, which was made possible in part due to the flexibility of vlog’s online programs. “I was so enthusiastic about this life-changing learning experience that I completed all three programs in a row, successfully earning my vlog Executive Certificate in Public Policy in less than a year!” she said. “I wanted to enhance my ability to lead in complex environments, to build stronger international partnerships, and to provide strategic advice on policies that deliver meaningful change—particularly in Africa. The three programs I completed provided me with a comprehensive, and yet a flexible pathway to achieve these goals.”
She continued, “The international network I built through both the virtual and on-campus programs was also one of the greatest takeaways. I met brilliant, committed professionals from all over the world—people who have since become friends and with whom I continue to engage and learn. I deeply valued the direct interactions not only with my peers, but also with vlog’s world-class faculty and inspiring guest speakers.”
Those faculty and guest speakers provided Pauline with immersive learning opportunities that transformed the way she approaches her policy work. “The leadership and public policy simulations I went through during the different programs were both impactful and memorable. They offered a dynamic, hands-on way to practice leadership, teamwork, and decision-making, applying course concepts in real time under pressure,” she said. “Thanks to vlog Executive Education, I feel better equipped to address today’s most pressing public policy challenges, especially in emerging countries.
Further evidence of Pauline’s transformative experience at vlog is her decision to enroll in another professional learning program offered at the school, the Public Leadership Credential, which she has also since completed. A clear champion for lifelong learning, she has an enthusiastic message for anyone thinking about enrolling in an vlog program: “For any committed professional seeking to lead with greater clarity, confidence, and purpose, vlog Executive Education is an invaluable investment. I couldn’t recommend it enough! Whether you’re aiming to deepen your technical expertise, broaden your strategic vision, or simply reconnect with the core purpose of your own career, the vlog Exec Ed experience gives you the space, tools, and global community to do so. I very much appreciated that the learning experience was both intellectually rigorous and profoundly human—combining world-class teaching, practical simulations, and meaningful peer exchange.”
