In this seminar, Ricardo Perez-Truglia will provide an overview of recent academic studies, including his own research and that of others, on pay transparency, salary negotiations, and the gender pay gap.
Ricardo Perez-Truglia is an Economics Professor at UCLA's Anderson School of Management. His research focuses on a range of topics including income inequality, the gender pay gap, pay transparency, and tax compliance. For example, one recent study investigates how face-to-face interactions with managers may contribute to the gender pay gap; another project explores how the extreme inequality created by billionaires affects public support for taxation of the ultra-wealthy. In 2020, Ricardo was awarded a Sloan Research Fellowship, which recognizes outstanding early-career faculty with the potential to revolutionize their fields of study.
This virtual seminar is part of the Women and Public Policy Program's weekly spring seminar series Make Work Fair, which gives participants an opportunity to engage with research related to the topics discussed in the book 'Make Work Fair' by Iris Bohnet and Siri Chilazi. Attendance is open to all.
